About

Some of us are born with creative brains that never stop, allowing us to churn out work without those occasional weeks of mojo-hunting, or the inconvenience of misplacing our muse while hunting down a box of maple sugar oatmeal in the pantry. Sometimes we need not only a jumpstart, but an overhaul of all systems. You know how it is . . . the headlights are blurry, the internal  computer systems need defragging, and our engine is more than a mite Pam Goode Mosaic Artistsluggish.

Creativity tune-up anyone?

In my experience, what comes out is a product of what goes in. Same Old Same Old -> Same Old Same Old. Because travel forces a total mindshift OUT of myself, I figure it will do the same for all of us.

In this space we’ll be talking about Mosaic Art Retreats worldwide — some led by me; some led by others. I’ll try to provide as much information as the curious mind needs, as well as plenty of eye candy and daydream inspiration for the right brain. If you have questions, feel free to contact me and I’ll tell you everything I know and then some, or point you in the right direction.

Mosaic Art Retreats will center around workshops and/or personal creative time in a group setting. Retreats are primarily all-inclusive. They rarely include airfare or the expense of getting TO the retreat location, but they do include lodging with the group, some meals, a planned itinerary, the experience and guidance of local experts, the option of ample free time coupled with ample creative time to use as you wish, and, essentially, a Mother Hen. There’s no worry about logistics — just relaxation, wonder, fun, and creative play. Retreat leaders are listed in the Leaders section — check back as we include more.

Sounds intriguing but never made a mosaic before? Most retreats are open to novice and experienced artists alike — I love working with a mixed group. Just not into mosaics? Grab supplies and do your own thing. I guarantee you’ll come away inspired.

Colette, at this time the site is a clearinghouse for all-inclusive mosaic workshops/retreats. Because there are workshops all over the world, it would be too unwieldy to list them all, so I need to focus on those that include housing, meals, and help with travel arrangements. At some point in the future I may add a page that lists artists who offer non-inclusive courses worldwide as well as your contact information. You’re on the list, and I’ll let you know when that happens. In the meantime, feel free to comment on posts, and other visitors can click on your icon. However, it’s best to comment on the information posted, rather than to use the comment section in other ways.

Hi, I was hoping to be able to list my mosaic retreat on your site. My site is http://uncleianshawaii.com/. Please take few minutes to review site as it is really unique and a great way for a intro. Into mosaics, unique accommodations and see Hawaii at the same time. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or a form to fill out. Aloha, Ian

I am looking for an accredited scool to expand my knowledge of mosaic. I have been on workmans compensation and will be getting a reeducation voucher. This has to be used at an accredited institution. If you are I will be thrilled. If not, do you know of one? Perhaps a school that has an affiliation with an accredited college? Thank you for you time.

    Respecfully,
    Claudette
