• Teaching Specialty: Realistic and Byzantine mosaics. The class starts by exemplifying general global mosaic history in order to help a student understand how to make a splendid mosaic. Andjelka explains the understanding of the elements of color, line, texture, shape, form, space, to create balance, emphasis, harmony, variety, gradation, movement, rhythm, and proportion in mosaic, and helps each student to gain a solid knowledge of color theory. Multiple examples from Art history are shown, and are discussed during the workshops. Different kind of constructional mosaic challenges are documented and discussed. She teaches the indirect method and demonstrates how to pour out the mortar (made of ceramics powder and liquid) on a small mosaic example.
